Cultural Expo

             Today we had our sixth and sadly final debate. We lost it by a vote of 0 for, 3 against. It was not a disappointing loss though because it was good  debate and the other team simply had more experience. Because of that and our other losses we did not manage to break octofinals. In my opinion though, for our first time this was good, since this style of debate is very different from our normal style. Another factor that may have worked against us was the difficulty of other teams (and sadly judges) inability to speak good English or to comprehend it. Over all this debate championship was a very a good enlightening experience. After our defeat today we got to participate in the cultural expo. This is an activity were ever team shows and display parts and representations of their native homeland. Because there were multiple US teams, we personally decided to represent Detroit, our great state of Michigan, Walsh College, and of course our High School, Brother Rice. We did this by giving away T-shirts, bags, pens (a lot of them), presentations, and music (Motown, and we displayed an Eminem CD Case). We also gave out free samples of our local pop Vernors. It was very pleasant to see that other people enjoyed our culture. We also got to see a lot of people dressed up in traditional outfits of their cultures.. It was all a very fun experience.
